NEWS! Open Trail is a charity and we have secured funding to help disadvantaged children engage in our Forest School adventures. This includes free access and even transport options! If you, or a community group you know would like a walk on the wild side get in touch to make wonderful opportunities happen! (full days available on Wednesdays and Fridays!)

Kinver Edge Kids will be kids! Build a rope swing, make a mud pie, dig a hole to China, climb a tree, make a fire, cook up some treats, build an obstacle course, run, fall about and go where your imagination takes you!

A wonderful exciting, nature play experience for ages 5-12.

  • Be active in nature, getting exercise in the fresh air at our forest venue

  • Develop their imagination and creativity

  • They choose their own forest adventures and play

  • Boost their confidence, self-esteem, problem solving and resilience

  • Make lots of new friends

  • Learn new skills

  • Be cared for and supervised by our qualified Forest School practitioners

Activities

The children are encouraged to direct their own play and exploration in nature, whilst planned activities are also available.

Kids will:

build dens, create natural shelters, go on mini-beast hunts,  scavenger hunts, play in the mud kitchen, climb, build, create, play games, complete blindfold challenges, have storytelling, art and crafts, practise survival skills, do bushcraft with knives, saws and drills, light and maintain fires, and cook over fires,

The tasks increase in skill level. During sessions, we use specialised tools such as bow saws, hack saws, knives, hammers and fire lighting equipment.
